Our Farm Stand delayed in opening. We hope we can add some plants for sale soon: lemon balm, mint, oregano, old-fashioned yellow rose, sun chokes, catnip, minors lettuce.
This year we are building a storage/carport building that will have solar panels equal to the number on the farm house. This will free up a frame to use as a greenhouse.
Our water system is renewed. And we are using straw to do much more mulching as the heat is indicating a hotter summer coming. The three compost bins we plan to turn and plant squash in this week. Some raspberries, boysenberry, and loganberry have been moved out of the fenced garden. We will see if they will be of interest to the elk?
This June and July my family leaves to Winnipeg. When they return in the beginning of August there will be lots to harvest. We are now eating lettuce, red orach, peas, broccoli, green onions, asparagus, strawberries, kale, minors lettuce, New Zealand spinach. nettles, sweet cicely, thyme, rosemary, dill weed, cilantro, oregano, chives, basil, borage, parsley, lilac, pansy, nasturtium, sage blossoms, garlic, lemon balm, chocolate mint, apple mint, long English cucumbers, summer savory, sage, wild rose petals, chickweed, and soon garlic scapes!
